It’s no secret things are moving toward the countryside in both developments and socialization and technology’s racing to keep up. Here are a few of the things we’ve noticed are making a huge impact on rural communities in and around the south:
Wind Power: Wind turbines are the newest in renewable energy and windmills are popping up from Nevada to North Carolina. They’re clean, efficient and totally reusable and if you’ve got land you can house a turbine.
Satellite Internet: Communities that have never had access to high-speed internet now can get online through companies like Get WildBlue. All the basic functionalities of the internet are available over a satellite connection which makes everything from running a business to emailing easier.
Green Farms: Sustainable agriculture is huge all across the US but nowhere more so than in the south. Farmers are developing smaller acreage and treating the land with more respect which mean better quality produce and a longer growing life for any given patch of soil.

It is true High quality satellite television is better than ever. Many of the problems that plagued the satellite companies for years have been resolved as various upgrades continue to happen within the satellite industry,. These companies have focused on fixing the areas where they were having downfalls.
One of the roughest areas effecting satellite television providers was their reception issue when the weather was less then perfect. In many areas unless it was a perfectly still sunny day your reception would be terrible. Even the wind would cause the television system to not work properly. If it was rain Continue Reading »

Quality telecommunications improvements for satellite television are amazing since the earliest days of such technology. At one time, the first satellite television dishes would easily take up the space of an entire front yard. The overall improvements in satellite and telecommunications systems has reduced that same massive outdoor dish to a small unit anchored to the outside rooftop. Soon these same models will likely be made obsolete as well.
Connectivity has also improved greatly since the Continue Reading »

Television viewing continues to evolve. Just a few short years ago there were only about 3 local channels available to watch. And these were sometimes scratchy but the picture could be improved by going outside and moving the antennae around a bit. Except for weekends these channels went off air at midnight.
Thankfully satellite has made available a wide variety of channels for entertainment and learning purposes. Not only is there a plethora of channels to choose Continue Reading »

I remember my first satellite television dish. It spanned the entire front yard. It frightened the dog, small children, elderly neighbors, and local law enforcement had some questions. “Is that thing transmitting missile technology secrets to your Soviet masters?” and “Your satellite dish has blotted out the sun. Lex Luthor would be proud.” spring to mind as objections issued by civic-minded fellows. The great dish stood like the pyramid at Giza, dominating the landscape, and depriving my lawn of precious sunlight. We got rid of the monster sometime last year, and for all I know, it adorns some third-world Continue Reading »
