It’s no secret things are moving toward the countryside in both developments and socialization and technology’s racing to keep up. Here are a few of the things we’ve noticed are making a huge impact on rural communities in and around the south:
Wind Power: Wind turbines are the newest in renewable energy and windmills are popping up from Nevada to North Carolina. They’re clean, efficient and totally reusable and if you’ve got land you can house a turbine.
Satellite Internet: Communities that have never had access to high-speed internet now can get online through companies like Get WildBlue. All the basic functionalities of the internet are available over a satellite connection which makes everything from running a business to emailing easier.
Green Farms: Sustainable agriculture is huge all across the US but nowhere more so than in the south. Farmers are developing smaller acreage and treating the land with more respect which mean better quality produce and a longer growing life for any given patch of soil.
Find out more about what’s going on in rural technology further down on the blog!

The phone that once required a cord can now run off of a computer chip. Product advancement in telecommunications is done daily, making new products available for consumers to purchase.

The computers that were plugged into your wall, now work while you’re driving or flying out of town on business, or while you’re sitting at your daughter’s soccer game. Laptops were once heavy and not as easy to carry around. Since then smaller laptops, known as netbooks have been produced, as well as the newest advancement in telecommunications systems know as tablets. With tablets, you have access to your favorite website, or you can read a book with your online library, or listen to your favorite song via your music player.

You can watch hundreds of channels through satellites and cable boxes, instead of the same boring ten black and white television stations people had to choose from years ago. Satellite television is making it possible for countries all over the world to watch the same movies, televisions shows, and sporting programs. Satellite has even taken over the radio industry. Now radio shows can be heard through satellite networks, allowing you to hear your favorite radio show, even if you are out of town.

It is true High quality satellite television is better than ever. Many of the problems that plagued the satellite companies for years have been resolved as various upgrades continue to happen within the satellite industry,. These companies have focused on fixing the areas where they were having downfalls.

One of the roughest areas effecting satellite television providers was their reception issue when the weather was less then perfect. In many areas unless it was a perfectly still sunny day your reception would be terrible. Even the wind would cause the television system to not work properly. If it was rain or snow there was no chance of your system working until it cleared up. The satellite providers have done everything to improve these systems so they will still operate successfully in negative weather.

They have also increased their programming option including adding 3D television. The amount of programming available is almost endless and there are major options for every type of television viewer. If you are sports fan many major league sports channels are available so you will never miss a game from your favorite team.

Keeping all of this in mind has made satellite a great option for your television needs.

Get ready for solar powered cell phones. Top brand cell phone companies are looking to power phones with solar power. No one likes when their battery is low on their cell phone. When the battery on your cell phone is low it means that you will have to plug your phone into a wall outlet to let it charge. The problem with that is that is it uses electricity and you cannot always plug your phone into a wall outlet. If your phone is able to be charged by solar power, you will help the environment by using less electricity. You will also never have to worry about not being near a wall outlet or car charger.

There have been concept ideas for solar powered phones introduced, but they all seemed to be years away from being in production. The solar powered cell phone may soon be a reality. At a recent concert in Europe people were given t-shirts that charged their cell phones. If a t-shirt can charge a phone, then the idea that a phone can be charged by the sun is not too far-fetched. We will all be waiting to see when the new solar powered cell phones will hit the market. What’s 1 more click? Your boss isn’t watching… Solar ‘Power Panel’ provides solution for 500 million who have cell phones but lack electricity

Quality telecommunications improvements for satellite television are amazing since the earliest days of such technology. At one time, the first satellite television dishes would easily take up the space of an entire front yard. The overall improvements in satellite and telecommunications systems has reduced that same massive outdoor dish to a small unit anchored to the outside rooftop. Soon these same models will likely be made obsolete as well.

Connectivity has also improved greatly since the early days of satellite television. The advancements in audio and video alone are impressive, but now the speed and delivery of signals is like nothing ever imagined in the old days. In this new age of smaller equipment, faster transmission speeds, and the future innovations will surely make the television of this century something worth paying for.

What more can we realistically expect from television in our lifetimes? Within the last decade television has seen the rise of fiber optics, light speed networking, high-definition broadcasting, live streaming movie downloads, and now even real-time web applications; it would seem that the sky is the limit. All of this is now available to the worldwide audience as well. Soon the satellites themselves will probably become obsolete.

Television viewing continues to evolve. Just a few short years ago there were only about 3 local channels available to watch. And these were sometimes scratchy but the picture could be improved by going outside and moving the antennae around a bit. Except for weekends these channels went off air at midnight.

Thankfully satellite has made available a wide variety of channels for entertainment and learning purposes. Not only is there a plethora of channels to choose from, the picture quality is vastly different from earlier days. Quality just continues to improve. Screens display shows that are getting crisper and clearer all the time.

Technological advancements help to keep quality viewing on the upswing. It is a cooperative effort on the part of many technicians from those who develop television sets to the ones who set up and deliver satellite services to the house. All of these function together to help viewing pleasure become more enjoyable. Having satellite allows for a continuous stream of broadcasts.

These technological advancements are enhancing home theater viewing in many ways and improving the overall quality of satellite services. Receivers are able to receive higher quality signals. This directly effects what is seen on the television screen.

I remember my first satellite television dish. It spanned the entire front yard. It frightened the dog, small children, elderly neighbors, and local law enforcement had some questions. “Is that thing transmitting missile technology secrets to your Soviet masters?” and “Your satellite dish has blotted out the sun. Lex Luthor would be proud.” spring to mind as objections issued by civic-minded fellows. The great dish stood like the pyramid at Giza, dominating the landscape, and depriving my lawn of precious sunlight. We got rid of the monster sometime last year, and for all I know, it adorns some third-world rooftop even now, drawing in precious, precious digital signals to otherwise deprived households.

Improvements in satellite and telecommunications systems has rendered my massive satellite dish, once my pride and joy, thoroughly obsolete. Today’s satellites and telecommunications systems have outpaced developments in fiber optic networks, and deliver high quality, high definition pictures, video and audio any where in the world at a fraction of the price and space required by yesterday’s technology. Gone are the vast telecommunications arrays of our ancestors, replaced by small receivers and smaller dishes, incongruously delivering fast digital signals at a fraction of the cost paid by consumers just a few years past.
